IFA 2026: Speediance adds heavier resistance to home gyms

Speediance will show its connected home gyms at IFA 2026 in Berlin, including the Gym Monster 3, Gym Monster 3S and Gym Monster Ultra. The systems are scheduled for demonstration in Hall 12, Booth 121, with changes for heavier strength training, more usable cable positions and expanded workout areas.

The Gym Monster 3 and 3S retain Speediance’s freestanding, foldable design. Neither requires drilling or permanent wall installation, which keeps the systems aimed at homes where a conventional rack or cable machine would be difficult to install. The Gym Monster 3 delivers up to 100kg (220 pounds) of digital resistance, while the 3S raises that to 120kg (260 pounds). Users can adjust the load in 500-gram or 1-pound increments.

Both models use 19 cable positions arranged on a 7.5-centimeter grid. That gives users more control over pull angles and cable height than a fixed-position setup, particularly when switching between exercises or accommodating different body sizes. Speediance also says it has reinforced the welds and stiffened the arms to improve stability under heavier loads.

A 23.8-inch WQHD display, with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440, provides the main interface. The hardware includes 20W surround sound and ambient lighting that responds to workouts. Voice control, Assist Mode, Partner Mode and four resistance modes carry over, while a new AI-powered Coach is intended to make workout guidance more personalized and responsive.

The Pilates setup adds equipment for workouts beyond conventional cable strength work. It includes loops, straps, platform extensions and a mat. The platform remains compact when stored: Speediance lists an unfolded footprint of about 0.84 square meters and a folded footprint of about 0.26 square meters.

How the three systems differ

The Gym Monster Ultra is the larger machine, with a 2.27-meter frame and a design closer to a compact strength-training station than a general-purpose foldaway unit. It has 33 cable positions, a multi-grip pull-up station, a vertical high-lat pulldown and an adjustable thigh restraint.

Its lower pulleys can move with the direction of travel during rows, deeper pulls and rotational movements. That mechanism is intended to keep the cable path aligned as exercises become more complex, rather than forcing the user to work around a fixed pulley location.

The Ultra’s usable platform measures 0.88 square meters. Speediance says that is 64% more training space than the previous generation, although the announcement does not provide the previous model’s platform dimensions. The full operating footprint grows to as much as 2.08 square meters when the lat-pulldown arms are deployed, then contracts to roughly 0.59 square meters for storage.

The Ultra differs from the Gym Monster 3 in more than resistance. Its larger frame and dedicated pull-up and pulldown hardware target exercises such as squats, lunges and split-stance movements, as well as more conventional back and upper-body work. Speediance is also positioning it for advanced home users, coaches and smaller studios.

Pricing and availability

Speediance has not announced pricing or retail availability for the Gym Monster 3, 3S or Ultra in the supplied announcement. The company’s IFA demonstration is therefore a product showcase, not confirmation that US customers can order any of the three systems.

IFA 2026 runs from September 4 through September 8, 2026, so the Berlin showing should provide an opportunity to inspect the revised cable layout and the larger Ultra platform. The announcement does not provide independent resistance measurements, latency figures for the AI Coach or details about any subscription required for coaching content. Those omissions leave the cost of the connected features and the practical value of the new coaching layer unresolved until Speediance publishes retail and software terms.
