Today’s IFA 2026 coverage traced a shared ambition: electronics companies are presenting homes, mobility, robotics and their underlying components as parts of broader systems. The consequential thread was not one product, but the effort to connect household experiences with the machinery and manufacturing capacity behind them.
From components to connected products
On the industrial side, LG’s AXIUM actuator push put the focus on what may sit beneath future robotic products. LG is pursuing big-tech actuator contracts, highlighting 100,000-RPM motors and a production line planned before the end of the year. That combination matters because it joins a bid for customers with a stated plan to scale the hardware involved, rather than treating the IFA appearance as a purely conceptual robotics showcase.
The breadth of the products on display was equally striking in coverage of Xiaomi, Xpeng and Chinese electronics makers. Xiaomi’s 380-product ecosystem appeared alongside humanoid robots and connected-home products, while electric vehicles and flying cars extended the presentation beyond the home. Read together with LG’s actuator plans, the announcements show an event spanning both the visible endpoints—robots, vehicles and domestic devices—and the specialized technology intended to support them.
At the household level, Hisense’s IFA presentation concentrated on an integrated kitchen, laundry and living setup, with Alexa+ controls for select air conditioners due in the coming months. Its focus gives the larger IFA theme a practical setting: systems are being framed not only through ambitious vehicle and robot demonstrations, but through the appliances that occupy everyday rooms. The contrast also clarifies the range of this week’s announcements, from motors built for demanding hardware to controls aimed at routine use at home.
Next, we’ll be watching whether LG’s planned production line and Hisense’s forthcoming air-conditioner controls turn these IFA promises into products people can encounter beyond the show floor.
