Today’s IFA coverage tracked robotics from Xiaomi’s factory ambitions to new floor-cleaning machines from iRobot and xLean.
The throughline in today’s IFA coverage is robotics moving beyond a single household task and into broader connected systems. Xiaomi made the widest claim, pairing its factory-focused CyberOne progress with a foldable device and EV ecosystem, while iRobot and xLean concentrated on competing ideas of what a floor-cleaning robot should do.
Robotics at different scales
Xiaomi’s first IFA showing tied CyberOne’s reported 98% factory task rate to the company’s XRING O3-powered 18 Fold and connected EV ecosystem. The presentation frames robotics not as an isolated product category, but as one component of a larger set of devices and vehicles.
At home, iRobot’s Roomba Duo takes a modular route: it combines a floor washer with a smaller deployable Roomba Plus 757. The company has not yet provided a price or launch timing, leaving the practical terms of that two-machine approach unresolved.
xLean’s TR1 instead emphasizes control and versatility, using EvoMate OS for sentence-based cleaning instructions alongside 17,000 Pa suction and a handheld mode. With shipments set for Q4 2026, it is the clearest of today’s cleaning-robot announcements on timing.
