IFA 2026: Motorola teases a darker Swarovski Razr

Motorola has announced a new Swarovski Edition Razr that will be shown at IFA 2026 in Berlin. The company has not revealed the phone’s official name, price, exact launch date, or availability in the United States.

The device appeared in a teaser published on August 28. It shows a Razr-style foldable with a black rear panel, a diamond-shaped texture, and several embedded crystals. That design matches leaked renders described in our earlier coverage of Motorola’s Watch Ultra and related leaks only in timing, not product category: the phone renders reportedly showed additional crystals near the hinge and beneath the external display.

Motorola has previously released a Swarovski Edition of the Razr 60. The new model is expected to be based on the Razr 70, although Motorola has not confirmed that identification or said whether the Swarovski version will use exactly the same hardware. The finish is also more restrained than the earlier model’s more heavily decorated design: this version uses a dark, patterned surface rather than a bright, crystal-dominated exterior.

IFA 2026 runs from September 4 through September 8 in Berlin. Motorola is expected to provide the remaining product details at the event. The phone will join the company’s Brilliant Collection of electronics featuring premium materials and Swarovski crystals.

What the Razr 70 hardware may look like

If Motorola carries over the regular Razr 70's platform, the Swarovski Edition should retain a 6.9-inch internal OLED display, a 3.6-inch external display that wraps around the rear cameras, two 50-megapixel rear cameras, and a 32-megapixel selfie camera. Those specifications remain expectations, not confirmed specifications for the crystal edition.

Reports also disagree on one important component. One account lists the Razr 70's battery at up to 4,800mAh, while two other accounts specify 4,500mAh. Motorola has not published a Swarovski Edition spec sheet that resolves the discrepancy.

Leaked packaging may reveal a small accessory change. Images reportedly point to a transparent protective case, a USB-C cable, and a 33W charger. That would be slightly higher than the 30W wired charging figure associated with the standard Razr 70, but the charger shown in leaked material does not establish that the phone itself supports faster charging.

Motorola’s teaser confirms the exterior treatment, not the internal platform. It also leaves open whether the company will change the camera tuning, storage configurations, battery capacity, charging support, or software compared with the standard model.

Price remains the main unknown

Motorola hasn’t announced US or European pricing. Last year’s crystal-covered Razr reportedly cost about $200 more than the standard model. However, the reports give different currencies and slightly different base prices for that comparison.

A similar markup would put the new model near the $1,000 level before any regional differences, but that is a comparison with the previous edition—not an announced price for the Razr 70 Swarovski Edition. Availability is equally unsettled, including whether Motorola will sell it in the US or limit it to selected markets.

Motorola’s foldable now has to justify a luxury premium without changing the underlying phone very much. Until the company confirms the battery, charging behavior, regional availability, and price, the crystals are the only confirmed specification.
