IFA 2026: Laifen AutoCurl, Glowy Vanity Mirror and P3 shaver

Laifen used IFA 2026 in Berlin to show three personal-care devices beyond its hair-dryer business: the AutoCurl Curling Iron, Glowy Vanity Mirror and P3 Electric Shaver. The products use sensing, motor control and adaptive lighting for routines that are usually manual, but Laifen has not supplied US prices or availability for the new lineup.

The AutoCurl is the most automated of the three. Its smart hair detection and dual-chamber design are intended to determine how a section should be curled without requiring the user to switch between left- and right-curl settings. Laifen says hair closer to the face is directed inward, while hair farther away is directed outward. Users can select Auto Mode for hands-off operation or Manual Mode for more control over the styling process.

A section of hair is heated in approximately 16 seconds, and the device releases 200 million negative ions as it works. Laifen describes this as part of its Long-Lasting Curls technology, although the supplied material does not include a controlled test of curl duration or hair-condition results.

The curling chamber is surrounded by a 360-degree protective enclosure, and the AutoCurl includes automatic shutoff. Those protections are especially relevant because the device draws hair into an enclosed mechanism instead of requiring the user to wrap it manually around an exposed barrel. The source material does not specify the shutoff timer, operating temperature range, heating element, battery capacity or motor speed.

Laifen also emphasizes a whisper-quiet motor, rapid heating and a compact body for travel. Universal 100–240V dual-voltage support makes the electrical input compatible with outlets in different regions, though users would still need the appropriate plug adapter. The company has not provided a weight, dimensions, cord specification or US release date.

Three devices, three control systems

The other two products move Laifen into adjacent parts of grooming rather than adding another hair tool. The Glowy Vanity Mirror uses a 24GHz radar sensor to detect someone approaching, switch the light on, and turn it off after the person leaves. A memory function restores the previous brightness and color-temperature setting.

Its 8.5-inch mirror uses full-spectrum LED lighting rated at Ra98 color rendering and at least 1,450 lux. The user can choose among 3,000K, 4,000K and 5,000K color temperatures and six brightness levels. That combination is aimed at makeup, skincare and judging subtle changes in skin tone, where a mirror can show a different result under warm bathroom lighting than under daylight.

The mirror’s cordless operation comes from a 5,500mAh battery. Laifen claims up to 11.9 hours of use at 64 percent brightness. That figure is tied to a specific brightness setting rather than an all-modes estimate, so runtime at maximum brightness is not established by the supplied information. The adjustable stand supports different viewing angles, but Laifen has not provided the mirror’s charging connector, charging time, weight or price.

The P3 Electric Shaver takes a more conventional handheld form but adds independent motor control. Its two linear motors run at 12,000 cuts per minute each, with intelligent PID control that adjusts motor output as beard density changes. The shaving system combines two foil heads with a center trimmer; the stainless-steel foil is 0.055mm thick, and the head floats to maintain contact with the face without requiring excessive pressure.

The P3 is rated IPX7 and supports wet or dry shaving. Its glass-fiber-reinforced PC body weighs 187.1g, and USB-C charging provides up to 100 minutes of runtime on a full charge. A three-minute quick charge supplies up to seven minutes of use. The magnetic shaving head detaches for rinsing and maintenance, but the supplied details do not state whether a charging stand, travel lock, replacement-foil schedule or spare-head pricing is included.

The three products use automation in different ways. AutoCurl uses detection to remove a styling decision, the mirror uses radar to remove a lighting-control step, and the P3 uses feedback control to vary motor output during shaving. Each product applies a sensor or control loop to a specific source of inconsistency rather than simply fitting under a “smart beauty” label.

What US buyers still cannot establish

Laifen’s IFA presentation provides detailed hardware figures for the mirror and shaver, but not the commercial information needed to evaluate them as US purchases. Prices, launch dates, retailer availability, warranty terms and replacement-part costs are not included for the AutoCurl, Glowy Vanity Mirror or P3 Electric Shaver.

The same gap applies to performance claims. The AutoCurl’s approximately 16-second heating figure describes the heating time for a section, not the total time for a hairstyle. Its 200 million negative-ion figure describes output, but the supplied material does not identify the measurement method or connect it to a quantified reduction in damage or static. Likewise, the P3's cut rate and 100-minute runtime do not establish shaving time, noise, closeness or how the motors behave under sustained load.

The engineering specifications indicate Laifen’s design direction but do not support a buying recommendation. The AutoCurl’s enclosed chamber and automatic direction logic address technique; the mirror’s color rendering and radar sensor address lighting consistency and standby behavior; and the P3's two-motor architecture, PID control and IPX7 enclosure address shaving control and cleanup. Whether those mechanisms justify a premium over established personal-care devices will depend on pricing and independent testing, neither of which has been provided for the US market.
