DJI Osmo 360 II launch set for August 13

DJI has shown the design of the Osmo 360 II ahead of a scheduled launch on August 13, 2026, but the company is keeping the camera’s core specifications under wraps. A DJI Hong Kong webpage titled “All Angles. All Epic” lists the event for 12:00 GMT, or 8 p.m. Beijing time.

The announcement teasers point to the same 360-degree camera concept rather than a new product category. One video cuts between mountain biking, dancing, and skiing before ending with “Coming soon.” Another starts with a square sensor viewed from above, then pulls back to reveal the camera and a fisheye-lens overlay.

Osmo 360 II rumored upgrades

The second-generation model is expected to replace the original Osmo 360, which could record 8K video at 50 frames per second, 6K at 60fps, and capture 120-megapixel panoramic photos. It also included built-in storage, a feature that distinguished it from some competing 360-degree cameras.

Early registration details and reports from Chinese social platforms point to several possible changes:

• A 2,150mAh battery, up from 1,950mAh in the first model
• Possible 8K recording at 60fps, adding 10 frames per second to the existing 8K mode
• NFC for easier pairing with other devices

None of those specifications has been confirmed by DJI. A report cited by ITzine also suggests that preorders or reservations could open as early as August 7, but that timing is not confirmed either.

That makes the battery and frame-rate rumors the main indicators of whether this is a meaningful upgrade or a modest refresh. The design teasers show DJI refining its existing formula, not changing it outright; the strongest potential improvement is the unconfirmed move from 8K/50p to 8K/60p.

Release timing and US availability

The launch date is clearer than the retail picture. DJI is expected to release the camera in markets outside the United States, while a simultaneous US launch appears less likely because tightened restrictions have already affected other DJI hardware. ITzine did not establish a US price, a global price, or a firm release date beyond the August 13 announcement.

For now, the Osmo 360 II is a credible but still incomplete upgrade: the launch event is official, while its battery, NFC support, 8K/60p mode, preorder timing, pricing, and US availability remain unsettled. If the 8K frame-rate claim is real, DJI will have a substantial headline improvement; without it, the confirmed news is primarily a new design and a product announcement.

Update, 27 August 2026 — Osmo 360 II gets IFA showing and 8K/60p

Techzilla It reports that DJI will show the Osmo 360 II publicly in Europe for the first time at IFA 2026 in Berlin, running from September 4 through 8. The camera will be displayed at DJI’s stand in hall 20-129 alongside the company’s other new products.

The report also describes the Osmo 360 II as capable of recording 360-degree video at 8K and 60 frames per second. That turns the previously unconfirmed frame-rate upgrade into a specification reported for the IFA showing, rather than another registration or social-media rumor.
