GTA 6 extended look hits Netflix and YouTube
GTA 6: An Extended Look premieres on Netflix August 27, then arrives free on YouTube six hours later.

GTA 6: An Extended Look will premiere on Netflix at 3 p.m. ET on August 27, 2026. The special will be available free on Rockstar Games' YouTube channel at 9 p.m. ET the same day, so a Netflix subscription isn’t required if you can wait six hours.
Rockstar Games hasn’t said exactly what the extended look will contain. Official gameplay footage and a third trailer are possibilities, but neither has been confirmed. Netflix plans to carry the program in more than 190 locations where its service is available, while the YouTube release is scheduled to be worldwide.

For viewers outside the Eastern Time zone, the Netflix premiere is scheduled for 8 p.m. BST on August 27 and 5 a.m. AEST on August 28. The free YouTube release follows at 2 a.m. BST on August 28 and 11 a.m. AEST on August 28.
The six-hour Netflix window has drawn criticism from players who worry that temporary exclusivity for promotional material on a paid streaming service could set an undesirable precedent for game marketing. The later YouTube release limits the practical cost to viewers, but Netflix remains the first venue for the event.
GTA 6 release date and recent controversy
The extended look arrives amid continued leaks, including alleged gameplay footage, details about the game’s Leonida map and material showing protagonist Jason in a nudist town. An anonymous leaker using the name Cyberleek has claimed the leaks are partly a protest against Rockstar’s decision not to ship a physical disc version. Instead, the physical edition is expected to include a digital download code.
Cyberleek has published a manifesto and threatened to continue releasing game material until Rockstar makes a public statement and apologizes. Rockstar has kept its release schedule: Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
The official content of the August 27 presentation remains unknown. Until Rockstar confirms the lineup, viewers shouldn’t treat speculation about gameplay or Trailer 3 as an announcement.
