Samsung’s Galaxy S26 FE costs $699.99 and ships September 4

Samsung’s Galaxy S26 FE will go on sale in the United States on September 4, 2026, starting at $699.99. That makes it a lower-cost entry into the S26 family, but also a $50 increase over the previous-generation FE phone.

The phone occupies an awkward middle ground: its size is close to the Galaxy S26+, while several specifications sit closer to Samsung’s A-series devices. Samsung says it offers core S26 features without the flagship price.

“purposefully designed to bring many Galaxy S26 experiences from camera to AI, along with the latest One UI, to those who look for what truly matters most to them.”

Unlike the standard S26 models, the S26 FE uses Samsung’s Exynos 2500 processor rather than a Snapdragon chip. The chip uses a 3nm process, but Samsung has not supplied benchmark results in the launch material. Performance, sustained speeds and efficiency will remain unverified until independent testing is available.

The S26 FE is also the first phone announced to ship with One UI 9, based on Android 17. The software includes Samsung’s Galaxy AI features, including Document Scan, Now Brief, Circle to Share and image-editing tools. Google’s Gemini Omni video generator also appears in the promotional material, although the launch did not establish whether every capability is exclusive to the phone or how much cloud access it requires.

Camera and display specifications

The phone has a 6.7-inch FHD+ display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and peak brightness of 1,900 nits. It carries an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

Its rear camera system combines a 50-megapixel f/1.8 main camera with image stabilization, a 12-megapixel f/2.2 ultrawide camera with a 123-degree field of view, and an 8-megapixel f/2.4 telephoto camera. The telephoto provides 3x optical zoom and up to 30x digital zoom. The front camera has a 12-megapixel sensor.

The S26 FE is the first FE model to receive Samsung’s ProVisual Engine, the company’s image-processing system for Galaxy S phones. It also supports Horizon Lock for stabilized video and My FanCam, a tool that can track one person in footage and help create edited clips. Samsung demonstrated the latter for recording and isolating a performer in a dance video.

Samsung’s promotional presentation emphasized camera and AI functions more heavily than hardware changes. The company described the phone as delivering S26 experiences, but the available specifications show cost controls in the processor choice and storage configurations.

Battery, charging and US storage

The S26 FE includes a 4,900mAh battery and starts with 8GB of RAM. Wired charging reaches 45W, with Samsung claiming roughly 69 percent charge in 30 minutes. Wireless charging is limited to 15W.

US buyers will get 128GB and 256GB storage options. A 512GB model is reportedly planned for markets including Europe and the UK, but it will not be offered in the United States. Samsung has not provided a US upgrade price for the larger configuration because there is no US 512GB version.

The $699.99 starting price is the main change from the prior FE generation. Samsung is asking about $700 for a handset with a large 120Hz panel, a triple-camera system and a current 3nm Exynos chip, but the higher price also narrows the gap with the standard Galaxy S26, whose base model previously retailed for $899.

Samsung’s launch presentation lasted about 10 minutes and disclosed relatively little beyond the headline specifications. It featured Le Sserafim member Huh Yunjin and creator Valstech rather than a detailed technical briefing, so questions about thermal behavior, sustained Exynos 2500 performance, camera quality and real battery endurance remain open.

The S26 FE will be available in a Pistachio color alongside the configurations Samsung has announced for the US. It starts at $699.99, ships September 4, and has no 512GB option to offset its limited base storage.
