IFA 2026: Acer unveils 799g Swift Blade 14
Acer’s 799g Swift Blade 14 and repairable Vero 16 lead a broader IFA 2026 laptop lineup, but US pricing is still pending.

Acer announced and showed a new group of Windows 11 laptops at IFA 2026, led by the 799-gram Swift Blade 14 and a fourth-generation Vero 16 designed to make repairs and some upgrades practical. The company also introduced the Swift Air 16 and Aspire G 3D 16, while US pricing remains unannounced for the new models.
The Swift Blade 14 is Acer’s answer to ultraportables such as the MacBook Air, but its main specification is weight rather than endurance or maximum performance. At 799 grams (1.76 pounds) and as thin as 12.9mm, it is lighter than the mainstream global-market laptops cited in Acer’s materials. Fujitsu has lighter LifeBook models, but those are niche systems sold primarily in Japan and parts of Asia rather than broadly launched worldwide.
Acer uses carbon fiber on the lid and bottom plate alongside a magnesium-aluminum alloy chassis. The machine is listed under model number SFB14-53CF, with an Intel Core 7 processor 350 from the Wildcat Lake family, 12GB of LPDDR5 memory and up to 1TB of storage. The 12GB memory limit is a limitation in a premium thin-and-light: the available material does not identify a 16GB configuration for this model.
The display is a 14-inch 16:10 panel. Configurations include an entry-level IPS LCD and an OLED option with up to 3K resolution, 90Hz refresh, and up to 100% DCI-P3 coverage. One report describes the OLED panel as 3K, while another calls the top configuration WQXGA+; those labels may reflect different configurations or regional terminology, so Acer’s final US configuration list will clarify the options.
The Blade 14 has a 50Wh battery, three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C ports and an FHD front-facing camera with a physical camera switch. It will be available in marshmallow blue and marshmallow white. Intel Client Computing Group vice president Sam Geha said the processor uses smartphone-inspired manufacturing efficiencies and can enable up to 20 hours of video playback, but Acer has not supplied test conditions for that figure.

Vero 16 focuses on repairability
The Vero 16 takes a different approach. Acer has added a tool-free latch on the bottom cover and engraved a visual repair guide on the chassis, making it easier to reach internal components. The SSD and battery are user-replaceable; the hinge can be detached from the chassis; and removable I/O port covers are intended to let users replace damaged ports rather than discard the computer.
The motherboard is also designed to support processor upgrades for at least two generations of CPU silicon. Acer has not explained the mechanism. The likely practical interpretation is a motherboard replacement, but that has not been confirmed, and the company has not said whether customers will be able to buy spare boards directly or will need to use retailers or service channels.
There is a limit to the repair story: the RAM is soldered. Replacing a motherboard could potentially change the memory configuration as well, but the Vero 16 does not provide ordinary user-upgradable system memory. That distinction matters because a replaceable SSD extends storage life, while soldered RAM can still constrain the useful life of a laptop as software requirements increase.

The Vero 16 is a Windows 11 Copilot+ PC based on Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, with configurations reaching the Core Ultra X9 388H and up to 180 platform TOPS for Copilot+ workloads. Its 16-inch display can be configured as a 3K OLED panel. The laptop has a 71Wh battery, up to 32GB of LPDDR5x memory and up to 512GB of SSD storage.
Acer’s material choices are more specific than a generic recycled-content claim. The top and palm-rest covers use 50% post-industrial recycled aluminum and 50% low-carbon aluminum. The bottom cover contains 60% post-consumer recycled plastic, while the display bezels use 30% post-consumer recycled plastic. The finish is solvent-free and powder-coated, which Acer says reduces volatile organic compound emissions. Packaging is 100% recyclable and made from recycled materials.
The Vero 16 also carries MIL-STD-810H certification. Its connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port with power-off charging, HDMI 2.1 with HDCP and an SD card reader. A 5-megapixel IR camera has a privacy shutter, and the keyboard includes Acer’s MyKey customizable shortcut.
As a Copilot+ system, the Vero supports Click to Do, Cocreator, Live Captions with translation and Windows Studio Effects. Acer’s own software adds QR-code scanning, AI image generation, video playback-speed adjustment and magnification for small text or images. PurifiedView applies camera enhancements, while PurifiedVoice uses AI noise reduction and supports external microphones and headsets. A dedicated AcerSense key exposes performance modes, battery and storage optimization, system monitoring and collaboration tools.
The unresolved issue is whether the replacement parts and processor-upgrade path will be affordable and available after purchase. Without a parts-sales policy, the repairable design does not yet establish a complete service model.
Two more laptops broaden the lineup
The Swift Air 16 is the more conventional large-screen thin-and-light. Models SFA16-I31T and SFA16-I31 use up to the same Intel Core 7 processor 350, but add a dedicated NPU and up to 40 platform TOPS. The aluminum laptop is as thin as 13.3mm, weighs 1.5kg and supports up to 16GB of LPDDR5x memory and up to 512GB of upgradable storage.
Its 16-inch display is available in OLED and IPS versions. The OLED panel provides 100% DCI-P3 coverage; the IPS option provides 100% sRGB coverage and can add multitouch. Both can reach WQXGA+ resolution of 2880 × 1800, 500 nits brightness and 120Hz refresh, with a 16:10 aspect ratio. A 70Wh battery supports charging to 50% in 30 minutes with a 100W adapter. Two Thunderbolt 4 ports, quad speakers with DTS Virtual:X and a backlit keyboard are also included.
The Aspire G 3D 16, model AG3D16-81M, differs from the other two. It combines an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor, Radeon 8060S graphics, up to 126 overall TOPS, as much as 128GB of LPDDR5X-8000 memory and up to 2TB of M.2 SSD storage. Its 16-inch naked-eye 3D IPS display reaches 3840 × 2400 in 2D mode and 1920 × 2400 in 3D mode, with 100% DCI-P3 coverage and a 120Hz refresh rate.
Dual eye-tracking cameras can convert ordinary 2D photos, video and other content into 3D without native 3D source material or a discrete GPU. Acer’s SpatialLabs 3D Hub handles viewing, conversion and 3D entertainment; supported games can separate foregrounds, backgrounds, environments and on-screen effects. The system also includes a 99.9Wh battery, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, two USB 4.0 Type-C ports and optional fingerprint sensing.
Acer’s wider IFA presentation included the Predator Atlas 7, a 7-inch gaming handheld with Intel Arc G-Series graphics, an 80Wh battery and TMR joysticks designed to resist drift. The company also showed Project DualPlay Mini, an 8-inch concept that flips and swivels to reveal a physical keyboard, with detachable controllers and fold-out speakers. The DualPlay device is a concept, not a shipping product.
Availability and pricing
Acer has provided regional launch windows, but not prices. The Swift Blade 14 is scheduled for EMEA in December 2026. The Swift Air 16 is scheduled for EMEA in December 2026 and North America in Q1 2027. The Vero 16 is scheduled for EMEA in Q1 2027, while availability for the Aspire G 3D 16 has not been announced.

The Swift Blade 14's 12GB memory and missing price make its value proposition impossible to judge. The Vero 16 differs in its approach to port, hinge, battery and storage replacement, treating those components as part of the product rather than as a service exception. For US buyers, neither laptop has a confirmed launch date or price yet, and the Vero’s usefulness still depends on how Acer sells the parts needed to use it.
