Xiaomi’s dual-4K AI camera costs just $120
Xiaomi’s Smart Camera 4 Max offers dual 4K cameras, 12× zoom and AI monitoring for 799 yuan, but has no US or EU release yet.
Xiaomi has released the Smart Camera 4 Max AI Zoom Edition in China, a dual-lens home security camera that records in 4K and uses on-device AI to track people and pets. It was initially offered only through crowdfunding, but is now available for 799 yuan, or $120, according to iXBT.

Dual 4K cameras and 12× zoom
The camera combines two sensors: a 12-megapixel telephoto camera and an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera. Both use bright f/1.6 optics and support 4K video recording. The system offers 3× optical zoom and up to 12× hybrid zoom, along with autofocus and full-color night vision powered by 10 infrared LEDs.
A two-axis motorized mount provides 360-degree horizontal rotation and 180-degree vertical movement. Xiaomi says the mechanism operates about 30% faster than the Smart Camera C700, helping it follow moving subjects more effectively.
AI monitoring and hardware
Xiaomi’s AI Care system can monitor children, older people, and pets. It detects falls, extended inactivity, and unusual pet behavior, and can track how much time a child spends studying. The camera also generates daily reports and lets users search recordings with text queries rather than manually scanning the archive.
Processing is handled by a quad-core chip rated at 3 TOPS. Xiaomi claims that gives the new model roughly three times the computing power of the Smart Camera C700. Other features include two-way voice communication with gesture controls, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, microSD support up to 256GB, and a dedicated security chip.
US and EU availability
The camera is not listed for sale in the US or EU. The cited coverage identifies Xiaomi YouPin in China as the launch and crowdfunding channel, with no global-store listing, regional launch date, or official US or EU pricing.
That leaves buyers in those markets with established alternatives. The dual-camera, 4K eufy Security Indoor Cam S350 costs $239.98 in the US and offers 8× zoom and 360-degree PTZ control, while the Wyze Cam Pan v3 costs $39.98 and provides 1080p pan, tilt, and zoom. The TP-Link Tapo C320WS is another budget option at $41.99, with 2K QHD video and outdoor use.
Xiaomi’s Chinese price is aggressive for a dual-4K camera with 12× hybrid zoom and onboard AI, but the product’s value for US and EU customers cannot yet be judged fully: Xiaomi has not specified global availability, USD or EUR pricing, regional firmware, certifications, or its cloud, storage, and data-processing terms.
