Samsung hints at premium pricing for Galaxy Glasses
Samsung says its Galaxy Glasses will launch at a reasonable but initially premium price, with a fall release reportedly planned.
Samsung’s long-awaited Galaxy Glasses may arrive this fall, but the company is still keeping key details under wraps. At a press conference following Galaxy Unpacked earlier this month, Samsung executive Choi Jae-in offered new comments on the upcoming smart glasses, according to The Korea Times.
Choi argued that Samsung’s position as a smartphone and smart-device maker could give it an advantage over competitors such as Meta, which does not produce other compatible hardware. The glasses are expected to work directly with Samsung phones, potentially reducing the amount of processing hardware needed inside the frames.
“Running artificial intelligence (AI) effectively requires significant computing power, but packing all the necessary chips into a pair of glasses makes it difficult to deliver a lightweight and comfortable experience that smart glasses should provide. As the first major smartphone brand to enter the smart glasses market, we have a lot of things to offer (to the market).”

Choi also addressed pricing for the glasses, which are being designed with firms including Warby Parker and Gentle Monster. He said they would have a “reasonable” price, while initially sitting in the premium range.
Meta’s smart glasses start at $299, offering a rough reference point for Samsung’s expected pricing. Samsung has not yet announced a launch date or final price.
