Businesses can now book advertising placements in Apple Maps, although users in the US and Canada will not see the ads until Apple’s full launch. The booking window opened on August 14, 2026, according to 9to5Mac.

New Apple Maps advertising design

Apple is offering eligible businesses a limited-time introductory incentive: 15% back as a monthly statement credit for up to 12 months. The credit is applied the following month and is capped at $1,000 per month. To qualify, businesses must book Maps ads using a credit card by October 11, 2026.

The ads will appear in two parts of the Maps experience:

Apple says more than 1 billion relevant business searches take place in Apple Maps each month, and that one in two business searches leads to user action. It also cites a Q1 2025 GWI Core Study indicating that Gen Z and millennials account for 57% of Apple Maps users.

Apple has not announced the exact date when users will begin seeing the placements, beyond saying that the advertising rollout is coming soon in the US and Canada. That leaves the current announcement focused on advertiser preparation rather than a live consumer-facing feature.

The move puts Apple Maps closer to Google Maps, which Google has been expanding with AI-assisted actions such as preparing food orders, finding event tickets, and checking hotel availability through its Ask Maps assistant, as we reported earlier this month. Apple’s announcement, however, concerns paid business discovery rather than booking automation.
